Road Race will Impact Traffic in Leesburg Sunday
Motorists are being asked to be alert for participants of a 10/20K road race on Sunday August 8, 2010. Beginning at 7:30 AM, the race route will start on Harrison Street in front of Tuscarora Mill and proceed south to Catoctin Circle. The runners will then go west on Catoctin Circle to Dry Mill Road where they will head out of Town and into the County on old Dry Mill Road. The return route brings the runners back into Town on Dry Mill Road and then onto the W&OD bike path behind Loudoun County High School and back to Tuscarora Mill.
Catoctin Circle from Harrison Street to Dry Mill Road will be closed for westbound traffic only at the start of the race and streets will reopen on a rolling basis following the last runner.

Barricades will be placed at intersections along Catoctin Circle NE to restrict traffic from entering the race route. Leesburg Police Officers and members of the Leesburg Police Citizens Support Team will be assigned to the event to ensure the safety of the participants and to provide traffic control assistance to motorists.
The event is scheduled to start at approximately 7:30 AM and should be finished by 10:30 AM
