Purcellville Crime Report 8/01/2010

07/27/2010   8:05 p.m.   200 blk  E. Main St.  Larceny of Bicycle
Complainant reported that her bike had been stolen from where she had left it outside of the Purcellville Library. The bike is described as a Magna brand 21 speed women’s bike and is valued at $100.

07/28/ 2010   12:30 p.m.    100 blk. N. 21st St.   Shoplifting
Business owner reported the theft of a pair of Ray Ban sunglasses from the store. The items were valued at $60. The Owner advised that this had been an ongoing issue in the store but this was the first time they reported the theft to police.

07/28/2010   1:30 p.m.     17000 blk. Pickwick Dr.   Hit and Run Accident
A witness observed a vehicle strike a parked vehicle and then leaves the scene without stopping. The matter is under investigation.

07/29/2010    6:30 a.m.    100 blk. A St.     Juvenile Complaint
A citizen observed a small child unattended that was walking around in public. It was determined that the child had left the home without a parent being aware of it. The matter was turned over to child protective services for investigation.

07/29/2010   9:00 a.m.    300 blk. S. 11th St.    Vandalism
The mailbox to the community had been vandalized. The damage is under $50

07/30/2010    7:00 p.m.   600 blk. Dominion Terrace    Vehicle Tampering
The victim reported that unknown suspects(s) had let the air out off all her tires on her vehicle. There was no permanent damage to the vehicle.
