Needy Families in Leesburg Get Free Dental Care Through Local Partnership

Smiles were plentiful at the Tree of Life Dental event on Saturday, 2/18/17 at Dr. Deidra Bird Kokel’s office.  Patients who qualified via the Tree of Life Program received cleanings and other dental work free of charge.  Dr. Kokel, three hygienists, and other staff members volunteered their time from 8 am – 12 pm attending to patients’ dental needs, while the Tree of Life organization scheduled the appointments for their clients.

“Today is an exciting day because we get to help people in need of dental care.  I told my staff that I was going to do free dentistry and they all said to count them in.  I feel like I receive so much more from this type of event than I could ever give,” said Dr. Kokel, a Leesburg dentist who has been in the area for over twenty years.  She and her team were thrilled to take part in the event and hope to do others like it.

Adam Turner, a Registered Dental Hygienist for Deidra Bird Kokel, DDS, commented, “In addition to helping people, we had a lot of fun today.  We look forward to the next Tree of Life event.”

Lynn Frost, Healthcare Director for Purcellville Tree of Life, was present at the event and stated, “We are so grateful for the generous support Dr. Kokel has offered Tree of Life.  Also, we’re excited to now have a Leesburg Tree of Life with Dr. David Phofl as Healthcare Director for this region.  We are very happy our clients could receive the great dental care they did from Dr. Kokel and her staff.”
